SUPPLY CHAIN & LOGISTICS
SUPPLIER LAUNCH & SUPPORT
Our Approach
Supplier launch:
– Develop and issue logistics & packaging guidelines to suppliers
– Hold logistics workshops to ensure requirements are understood (face to face or on-line)
– Test supplier communications and ability to receive and understand production schedules
– Carry out on site readiness reviews with specific suppliers (eg for high value/ complex commodities)
– Ensure parts shipment and receival processes are in place for tracking initial shipments from suppliers- provide them if needed.
Ongoing supplier support:
– Ensure part-tracking & shortage processes are incorporated in client’s manufacturing management systems
– Provide recommendations for supplier delivery metrics
– Work with suppliers to continuously improve performance and identify methods to optimise delivery reliability and reduce inventories
– Identify processes needed to address supply chain failures such as emergency premium freight actions
BENEFIT 1
Supplier Enablement in Logistics and Packaging
Excellent supplier support is essential to the smooth running of a production operation. Particularly during the early phases of a project it is essential that they fully understand the shipping, packaging and documentation processes that they must adhere to.
BENEFIT 2
Collaborative Risk Management with Suppliers
Working closely with suppliers is the best way to identify potential supply chain risks and to engineer contingency processes to ensure parts supply is not jeopardised.
