VIRTUAL BUILD / ERGONOMIC PLANNING

Our Approach

HSSMI’S approach to Virtual build and ergonomic planning uses Using human-centred simulation tools such as Digital Human Models (DHMs) and Virtual Reality (VR) to model how operators interact with products, tools, and workstations. , assessing human factors during tasks like reach and posture, and optimise workspace design before any physical changes are made.

1. Digital Design: Design engineers create detailed 3D models of products, workstations, or entire factory layouts.
2. Virtual Manikins: Scalable virtual manikins representing different human statures and anthropometric data are integrated into the 3D models.
3. Simulation: We program the manikins to perform tasks, their movements are tracked, and their interactions with the environment are simulated using VR or DHM software.
4. Analysis: We use the latest software to analyses the manikins’ poses and movements to identify potential ergonomic problems, such as awkward reaches, excessive bending, or strain on joints.
5. Iteration and Optimisation: Based on the analysis, we can make quick, cost-effective adjustments to the design, re-test them in the virtual environment, and iterate until an ergonomically sound solution is achieved

BENEFIT 1

Improved Ergonomics and Early Problem Detection

Improved ergonomics and Early Problem Detection reduce workplace injuries and fatigue, enhancing worker safety and satisfaction. Identifies ergonomic issues during the early design stages, reducing the cost of late-stage modifications.

BENEFIT 2

Validated Build Processes for Faster Launches

Validating build processes virtually ensures manufacturability, minimises rework, and shortens product launch timelines.
