Strengthening Our Circular Economy Efforts Through Collaboration with the CE100 Network

Some challenges are too big to tackle alone, and only by teaming up can we conceive of a comprehensive solution. Creating a more sustainable future for our planet, reducing waste and pollution and extending the lifecycle of our products are just some of the challenges facing the world today. That’s why we are proud to be a member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s CE100 Network. By bringing together businesses, innovators, cities, governments, universities and thought leaders (over more than 120 members in total!), the Network provides opportunities to learn, share knowledge and best practices, and build new collaborative approaches towards achieving a circular economy.
According to our Research and Innovation Manager Alberto Minguela, who has been spearheading HSSMI’s engagement with the CE100 network, “HSSMI’s proposition is to support manufacturers transition to a circular economy and we want to develop projects with a significant impact. The work of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in championing the transition to a circular economy has shown a change in how global businesses see and work towards a circular economy. The CE100 Network is the recipe and we are very proud to be one of the ingredients. Enabling the transition to a circular economy is at the forefront of innovation”.
The CE100 network facilitates events and projects between its members to help accelerate circular economy efforts. Amongst them are the so-called “Acceleration Workshops”, which are immersive events that provide an opportunity to learn from experts, build new relationships, and progress collective approaches. From 4th to 6th December in Stockholm we attended our first Acceleration Workshop and, together with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, hosted a collaborative session on 5th December. Our session assessed the network’s appetite to address some of the challenges related to creating a circular economy for lithium-ion batteries. We look forward to working together with other CE100 members going forward and helping to externally spread the word further about the great work that the Network is doing.
